New Blog: One Reason

I changed my blog because my previous blog used flash and I was afraid that I may not be able to connect with everyone while my trip in Cambodia.

About the Trip: (Just the basics)

In October of 2010 the founder (Lisa-Marie Howell) of Children's Global Alliance approached our school with an opportunity for 4 students to travel with her to Cambodia in late April 2011, to volunteer at an orphanage right outside of Phnom Penh. In order to get chosen you had to write an essay explaining your reasoning of wanting to go and why you should be chosen. Following that you had to go through an interviewing process with Lisa-Marie and Jen Gutmann (Friend of Lisa-Marie and Teacher at Stone Creek). The same day of the interview both Jen Gutmann and Lisa-Marie decided to circle the four students they thought were meant to go to this trip. Both of them circled the same names but instead of four they chose five names because they were not able to narrow the five names down. Attending the trip is Jack Skidmore (7th Grade), Kassie Heiner (7th Grade), Tabor Whitney (8th Grade), Anna Trombetta (8th Grade) & Me (Nina Ferzacca 8th Grade). Part of our trip we were each responsible for fundraising $1000 to go twards our trip, the other 2/3 Lisa-Marie is paying for. In the end this trip is a once in a life time opportunity and I am happy to be one that was chosen for this experience.
